Attending ECA 2012 at the Royal Sonesta? RSVP for lunch and a meetup about open textbooks.
Today’s post is by Jason S. Wrench, author of “Stand Up, Speak Out: The Practice and Ethics of Public Speaking” and Associate Professor of Communication and Media at SUNY-New Paltz.
This week is certain to be chock full of conversations about communication in the 21st century. As an Officer of Publications, I’ll be attending the Eastern Communication Association Conference in Cambridge, MA this weekend. I’m really excited about meeting with my colleagues; this is a conference I’ve been going to several years, and I’ve always enjoyed it.

I know that integrating new tools in a classroom can be a challenge. To that end, I’m hosting an Open Textbook Meetup this Saturday, April 28th to bring together folks from ECA to talk about best practices implementing open content in college classrooms.
Space is limited. RSVP to ensure your space. Lunch courtesy of Flat World Knowledge.
We’ll be talking about:
Where and When:
I hope to see you there!
